The Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France is a historic institution dedicated to training through excellence and the transmission of know-how. Active in many trades including woodworking, metalworking, stonework, and fine crafts, they train young people and adults each year, instilling mastery, work ethics, and a strong human experience through the tradition of companionship.
Why this collaboration?
Our Tormek T-8 sharpening machine is an ideal educational tool for learning precise, safe, and autonomous sharpening. By integrating this solution into certain training centers of the Compagnons, we help pass on an essential skill often overlooked: maintaining and mastering one’s tools a fundamental gesture in all manual trades.
Projects completed together
- Deployment of several Tormek T-8 sharpeners in training workshops
- Educational sessions on sharpening, in collaboration with trade mentors (cabinetmakers, carpenters, etc.)
- Raising awareness among trainees about the discipline of well-sharpened tools and best practices
